SENIOR BIOINFORMATICS SCIENTIST

YOUR ROLE
As senior bioinformatics scientist in our team, you will have a leading role in coordinating our customer projects and at the same time will be deeply involved in product development. You run the internal validation studies, provide content support to the commercial team, write (white) papers, present at conferences and are involved in customer deployment.

YOUR PROFILE
Required Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology
  • At least 4 years of hands-on Next-Generation Sequencing data analysis experience
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Working experience with Linux operating system
  • An excellent scientific track-record, backed by publications and recommendations
  • Experience in handling multiple projects in parallel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English (speaking Dutch is an advantage)

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in TCR/BCR repertoire analysis and/or immunology
  • Experience in an object-oriented programming language like Java or C++

(BIOINFORMATICS) SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERN

We are looking for motivated software engineering interns who can work full-time or part-time  for 3 to 6 months.

In this project, you will be building a next generation bioinformatics pipeline for the analysis of immunogenomic data. Knowledge of bioinformatics methods and tools would be helpful, but not essential – the right candidate will be able to easily pick up the basics needed for the project.

If you are passionate about building efficient and robust software tools and services, this will be a great experience for you!

You will have the chance to learn some cool tech like:

  • Containerization and deployment with Docker
  • Asynchronous task queues with RabbitMQ and Celery
  • RESTful API development with Flask and Marshmallow

Prerequisites

  • Experience with python
  • Fast learner, curious and eager to learn new techniques

Nice to haves, but not essential (we’ll be there to teach you what you need!):

  • Experience with bioinformatics tools
  • Experience with unit testing
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with pipelining software (e.g. Taverna, Galaxy, etc.)
